Hi everyone! My name is Charlotte and I am from Portland, OR. I’m currently a sophomore at Oregon State University (Go Beavers!). I’m majoring in New Media Communications and thinking about adding Computer Science as a minor. I am definitely a home-body and would usually pick to stay home and watch a movie with friends rather than go out and party all night (although, I definitely know how to have fun!). I can be pretty shy when you first meet me, but once you get to know me you will learn that I am a dork and totally nerdy… like, literally nerdy. I actually taught myself how to type fluent HTML and CSS when I was in 8th grade. Wow, that’s embarrassing! I love to travel. My dream vacation would be Jamaica or Fiji. I was lucky enough to grow up in a bilingual household and had the opportunity to travel to many foreign countries. Visiting extremely impoverished areas in eastern Asia has definitely been the most eye-opening experience of my life. It has taught me to truly be grateful for what I have and appreciate the fact that I have a roof over my head, food on the table, let alone having the chance to receive a college education. I try to never take anything for granted. It was truly an honor to be chosen to be in next year’s Tempe12 Calendar. I was in shock when I got the phone call with the good news, and I even kept it a secret from all of my friends for a week because I was so nervous! I’m still nervous now, but that feeling is slowly being taken over by excitement! This definitely feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I cannot wait to meet all the girls and get involved with all of the awesome sponsors this year! I feel lucky to have been given this great opportunity. Plus, it will be nice to get away from final exams and homework for a few days and have some fun in the sun! |
